FOOD PROCESSING & COLD CHAIN

Grading, packaging, and foreign-object vision served from the plant's pool, across equipment vendors that change from line to line and a crop that changes with the season.

A food plant grading line: produce moving under overhead cameras while packing robots fill crates, mist in the cold air and a wet floor below.

THE PROBLEM

Where the work is.

A food plant changes with the season: the crop, the pack, and sometimes the line. Grading and inspection cameras from different equipment vendors each carry a model trained elsewhere, on someone else's produce. A pool in the plant adapts the models to this plant's crop on this plant's captures, and serves every line from the same place.

CONSTRAINTS

Why a GPU on every machine fails here.

  • Models trained on another plant's produce grade this plant's badly.

  • Each equipment vendor's camera is its own island.

  • Line imagery is the plant's data and its training material.

  • A cold room and a wash-down floor are no place for a GPU on every machine.

DEPLOYMENT

How the Grid deploys.

  1. 01

    Place the pool

Czar nodes in the building's own rack, on the building's own network.

  2. 02

    Connect the fleet

Each vendor's software calls the pool. Safety and motion stay on the machine.

  3. 03

    Run the site's tasks

Authored, approved, and recorded in Agency Studio on the Grid.

REPRESENTATIVE USE CASES

What a site runs on it.

Illustrative capabilities, not accounts of specific deployments.

  • Grading and packing, one pool

Grading, packaging, and foreign-object vision served from the plant's pool, across equipment vendors that change from line to line.

  • A line that learns the season's crop

Models adapt on the plant's own captures as the crop changes, on the pool, without a frame leaving the network.

READING

Grading a crop that changes with the season

A food plant's crop, pack, and sometimes its line change with the season, and the grading cameras from different equipment vendors were trained on someone else's produce. A Czar Grid in the plant adapts the models to this plant's crop and serves every line from one place.

Safety, stops and motion stay on the machine as its vendor built them. Czar Grid serves perception, decisions and adaptation over the site's network; it is not a controller and does not sit inside any real-time or safety loop.
